After a season of torture for the Millers. Relegation, 2 failed take-overs, a successful takeover and the departure of Ronnie Moore. The new Millers Chairman pledges to move the club on.

Speaking to todays Rotherham Star, Ruchniewicz looks back "It has been a difficult time for everyone this past season but since we have taken over, we have put things in place aimed at moving the club on,"

"Last season hurt us too because we are all committed fans but we have made a lot of changes already and we shall continue to strive to keep improving." Ruchniewicz said.

Mick Harford had talks with the new board last week, and is happy with the tools he has been given to do the job, although he is looking to wheel and deal to get some of the present squad out of the club to bring new players in. Last week he told the majority of the team that they are free to find new clubs if they could.

Ruchniewicz also added, "Last season hurt us too because we are all committed fans but we have made a lot of changes already and we shall continue to strive to keep improving. We cannot guarantee anything next season but there is no reason why we cannot be competitive.

"Certainly we are doing all we can to make us as competitive as possible in League One."

Meanwhile the deadline for the RUST fundraising effort has been extended by a day to 12Noon on Tuesday.

At present the total raised by RUST stands at nearly £125,000, a figure which has been significantly boosted over the last few days, and it is hoped that the surge of donations will continue as the deadline looms.

Craig Saunderson of RUST said "This is tremendous news, it shows the message is hitting home and that we can achieve something really positive. Please don't fail to maker your donation because of complacency or because you ran out of time."

The club this week have been opening tenders from construction companys hoping to build the new stand, and Peter Ruchniewicz reiterated the rallying call, "The more we get, then the quicker we can get on with it. Your contribution, whatever it is, will make a difference."

"We keep saying this just isn't about the people who will be sitting in this stand watching the game - it is about being for the good of every fan, it is about being for the benefit of the club and of about being of use to the town and the community."
