Ross is still in my thoughts - Robins

Robins insists that Ross, who has only figured as a substitute in six of the last eight games, is still very much a part of the squad, but it's all about fighting for a place.

Speaking to today's Star, he explained: "He is definitely in my plans but sometimes it is horses for courses and we'll see what the opposition have and Ian Ross may not be best suited.

"He is a good passer and has the ability to open up teams but there are times when he likes to watch his pass too much. Peter Holmes recently forced his way into the squad and deserved it and it is about competing for a place."

Elsewhere Robins also confirmed that loanee Joe Widdowson is now in contention for a starting place at left back, and that his parent club West Ham are paying his full wages during the players month long stint at Millmoor.
