Robins set to lose strike duo??

With rumours of Richie Barker being wanted by managerless Mansfield Town it looks like the 33 year old striker will not be making his loan move a permanant one.

Meanwhile todays Advertiser reports that an unamed Scottish club has made an approach for fellow striker Mark Burchill who has struggled to make an impression since moving to the Millers in the summer, however it was only recently that Robins said that Burchill was still in his plans.

"Good strikers are hard to come by and I don't want to lose these two, Richie wants to score goals for Rotherham United and he's happy here. Mark is a good player and there's interest in him and rightly so. He got injured when he joined us and then we went on a run which made it hard to bring him in, especially with the system we were playing. But I was particularly pleased with his contribution against Darlington. He worked his socks off and he stuck his penalty away well. It's that kind of performance I want to see from him." Robins told the Tiser.

Meanwhile Robbo will look to build on Tuesdays victory as the Millers visit Accrington tomorrow. The Millers have failed to win in the league since the end of October; "Everyone says we've been on a bad run but don't forget that one of the losses was against Stoke and that we got a good point at Exeter and did well in spells at Shrewsbury." he said.

"We've got our points targets and we want to make sure we're in a healthier position come the match at home to Dagenham on January 3. The encouraging thing is that we passed the ball well in the second half against Darlington and the confidence is coming back. Now we have to make sure we keep tuned in for Accrington because they're a good side despite a heavy defeat last time out. We just need to keep picking up points."
