Robins looks to a bright future

Speaking to today's Rotherham Star, Robins stresses that when the proposed new stadium finally gets underway, exciting times lay ahead.

He explained about moving to Sheffield: "Initially the reaction was one of disappointment, but we were left with no alternative and we have to view it as a step forward, and something that draws a line under the past.

"We have to look forward and build. Change can cause fear but once we can get the emotion out of the way we can look forward.

"Don Valley is an interim measure, but it's a better stadium, and I know that the chairman Tony Stewart is looking to step up the process of getting a new stadium a lot more quickly."

Robins also reflected of his sadness in leaving Millmoor, where he's enjoyed promotion as a player prior to becoming youth team coach and first team manager.

"It's momentous leaving a ground where we've been for 100 years", he added, "but it's not as if we're going to be at Don Valley for 10 years. Our new stadium will be coming along and it will still be an exciting future."

Meanwhile press reports have linked the club with a move for striker Mark Burchill, who had a brief loan spell a few years ago whilst at Portsmouth, scoring on one occasion.
