He explained to the Advertiser: “It’s great for the club to be back in Rotherham and It’s great for the fans and it’s nice to hear them singing in the stadium.
“At Don Valley it was dicult. In a game somemes you need the fans. For example, we were at Burton last year, we had unbelievable support and it got us back into the game. That’s really important as it drives you on. Maybe it shouldn’t and we should be focused on the game, but when you get that little extra incentive it does help.
“It’s a massive cliche but the fans can be a 12th man for you. We want to get a winning team here week-in, week-out. If we do that we’ll get people back; if we don’t then it’s our own fault. So it’s all down to what we do.
“It all starts now for us. We’ll take massive confidence from the pre-season outngs..Now we have to take it into the league, starting this weekend.”
