Rethink ticket prices urges RUST

After the success of UNITED Rotherham day last month where the club lowered matchday prices to £15 for adults, RUST are asking the board to rethink their matchday prices to bring in more support.

Steve Exley of RUST spoke to todays Advertiser; "People are being asked to pay upwards of £20 to get into Millmoor if they don't pre-book, but it has to be remembered that we are playing Division Four football and doing so in a cramped ground." he said.

"I took my dad, who is 70, to the Wycombe match. He's just had a hip replacement and he couldn't sit comfortably in his allotted seat in the Tivoli. In the end he had to swap seats to get his legs in. Some people have been priced out of going to Millmoor. They won't go on principle."

"As a Trust, we've spoken to the board about pricing and the more I listen to Denis Coleman on the matter, the more I understand his thinking, but it's still far too expensive." he added.

When asked the same question in the MillersMAD Q&A with the board, chairman Denis Coleman stated that the previous offers didnt bring in the extra fans required to make it work, and that if the club reduced prices permanantly it could end up losing money if crowds did not increse significantly.
