The striker has agreed a move to Hartlepool after being allowed to leave by Mick Harford despite still having a year to run on his deal at Millmoor. There was no cost involved and Rotherham are in fact funding some of the deal.

Proctor arrived at Millmoor in February of last year in a blaze of glory after he joined from Sunderland in a deal that saw Darren Byfield move the other way and was an instant hit after netting two goals in a man of the match performance in the 5-1 tonking of Reading on debut.

He went on to forge a potent partnership with Martin Butler that saw the pair net over ten goals together towards the end of last season. However, Proctor did not enjoy anywhere near as much success last year, only netting the one league goal all season in what was a disappointing personal performance and he was even loaned out to Swindon.

The 24 year old Sunderland born player looked as if he may have played himself in to Mick Harford's plans for this season with an inspiring display against Leeds last season but Harford thought better of it and allowed Proctor to return to his native North East.

Millersmad wish Proccy all the best with his new club.
