Postponements could be good for us - Ronnie

With the last 3 games all being called off due to either snow or a frozen pitch the Millers have not had the usual hectic festive period that is the norm at this time of year, boss Ronnie Moore tells todays Advertiser that it might work to thier advantage.

"This rest could be the best thing that has happened, I'm trying to get people in on loan and by the time we get the games rearranged we might have a better team to send out." he said.

ronnie moore"Playing Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday can be a good thing and it's not as though we only have 16 players. We've a big enough squad to cover all positions."

"These next two matches (Rochdale & Bournemouth) are vital, I want a minimum of four points from them but if we were to win both it would put us in a brilliant position with games in hand on both Rochdale and Bournemouth."

"Those two have got their games in over Christmas and won them and that's put more pressure on those at the top. The gap has closed a little below us but we just need to get off and running again now." Moore added

"We had a practice match at Mansfield on Tuesday to blow the cobwebs off. The lads who will play on Saturday played in that match and they did quite well. We won 5-0."

Looking to Saturdays game at league leaders Rochdale, Moore said; "We have to make sure we're fully focused at Rochdale. Keith Hill and his assistant Dave Flitcroft have done a brilliant job there. They play football the right way and their pitch is as good as it has been in years."

"I've seen Rochdale twice over Christmas and they scored four goals each time, so I must be a lucky omen for them. I think I'll stay away on Saturday! We're not going there to lay down and die. We're going there to win and to do that we've got to get in their faces and play at a high tempo."

Jason Taylor will not be allowed to play for Rochdale against the Millers as part of the loan deal and the Millers will also be missing Nick Fenton who is still suspended after his sending off against Burton Albrion.

January 1st see's the transfer window reopening and as usual Moore will be looking to bring in new blood; "I want more pace in the side, whether that be in the full-back or wing positions, We keep knocking on the door but they've got to be the right players and I might have to let a couple go out on loan." he said.
