Ones to Watch - Chesterfield

Goalkeepers:

Mark Crossley. Date of Birth: 16/06/1969 Height: 6' 3"
Previous Clubs: Millwall, Fulham, Oldham, Middlesbrough, Nottm Forest, Sheffield Wed and Stoke City. Player-coach at Chesterfield having followed his ex Oldham boss John Sheridan to Saltergate in the summer. Mark has played in four games this season.

Tommy Lee. Date of Birth: 03/01/1986 Height: 6' 2"
Previous Clubs: Rochdale (loan), Macclesfield. Established himself as first choice at Saltergate around Christmas time last season and he won the Young Spireites' Player of the Year Award. After being in goal for most of the season Tommy was replaced by veteran Marc Crossley for three games recently, but been back between the posts for the last two games.

Defenders:

Robert Page. Date of Birth: 03/09/1974 Height: 6' 0"
Previous Clubs: Coventry City, Cardiff City, Watford, Huddersfield and Sheffield Utd. Page was signed in 2008 from Huddersfield Town. While Page was at Sheff Utd he appeared in three cup semi-final games. Page also turned down the opportunity to join Port Vale as player-coach in the summer. John Sheridan will be hoping Page has recovered from injury to be in the line-up.

Phil Picken. Date of Birth: 12/11/1985 Height: 5' 9"
Previous Clubs: Notts County. The right back spent the second half of last season on loan at Notts County and he looked set to move to Meadow Lane, before John Sheridan decided he was part of his plans, and kept him at Chesterfield.

Ian Breckin. Date of Birth: 24/07/1975 Height: 5' 11"
Previous Clubs: Wigan Athletic, Nottm Forest, Rotherham. Nephew of former Millers assistant manager John Breckin, Ian is well known to Millers fans. Before he moved to the Spireites from Forest, there were roumers he might be wanted by the Millers. Ian has missed the last two games through injury, and whether he has recovered enough to start is still in doubt.

Mark Little. Date of Birth: 20/08/1988 Height: 6' 1"
Previous Clubs: Chesterfield (loan), Northampton (loan). Mark came on loan from Wolverhampton in October. He had caught Sheridans eye while he was manager at Oldham when he was playing for Wolves in a 0-2 F.A. Cup match.

Kevin Austin. Date of Birth: 12/02/1973 Height: 6' 1
Previous Clubs: Brentford (loan), Horsham, Lincoln City, Bristol Rovers, Cambridge, Swansea City, Barnsley and Leyton Orient. Left Back Kevin's career started late when he joined Orient aged 20 from Saffron Walden Town. Kevin has had 7 starts this season.

Aaron Downes. Date of Birth: 15/05/1985 Height: 6' 1"
Previous Clubs Frickley, Hampton & Rich. Aareon initially joined the Spireites on a short term deal and in 2006-07, he swept the board at the end of season awards. Last season Aaron made 42 appearances for the Spireites, but missed the start of this season after a cruciate ligament operation in April. Aaron made the bench for the Lincoln game on Boxing day.

Alan Goodall. Date of Birth: 02/12/1981 Height: 5' 9"
Goodall is a left-back who started his career at the age of 22yrs old with Rochdale, after signing from Bangor City. Alan was at Rochdale for three years, and then moved to Luton Town, where he was released from his contract as Luton tried to overcome their point's deduction and administration.

Danny Hall. Date of Birth: 14/11/1983 Height: 6' 2"
Centre-back Danny started out at Oldham in 2002/03 season, after a loan spell at Scarborough he moved to Shrewsbury for two seasons. In 2008 he moved to Gretna where he became victim of their winding up order, Chesterfield saw their chance and snapped him up giving him a year's contract, which has since been extended.

Midfielders:

Wade Small. Date of Birth: 23/02/1984 Height: 5' 7"
Previous Clubs: Charlton, Sheffield Wed, Wimbledon, Blackpool. Small signed for the season at the end of August after spending a spell as a non-contract player at Charlton Athletic. He began his career with Wimbledon, with his debut coming shortly after their move to Milton Keynes, and he became their Player of The Year. Small left MK to join Sheffield Wednesday in 2006 and he spent three years at Hillsborough, including a spell on loan at Blackpool. Small missed the last two games through injury, and another who may not make the game.

Derek Niven. Date of Birth: 12/12/1983 Height: 6' 1"
Previous Clubs: Raith Rovers. Niven is a box to box player he signed from Bolton Wanderers in March 2004 after spending two months on loan with The Spireites. Niven battled to beat testicular cancer last season, and has come back to make 14 appearances in midfield this season.

Kieran Djilali. Date of Birth: 22/01/1991 Height: 6' 3
Previous Clubs: Chesterfield (loan), Crawley Town (loan). Kieran signed on loan from Crystal Place in November, making his debut in the Spireites 2-3 win at Rochdale, going on to make 6 appearances.

Dan Gray. Date of Birth: 23/11/1989 Height: 6' 0
Second year pro, Dan is a cultured central midfield player but came into the side unexpectedly last season and matured into a fine right back. Gray signed a deal that keeps him at Saltergate until summer 2010. Only one full appearance this season, Dan was on the bench for the Lincoln game.

Mark Allott. Date of Birth: 03/10/1977 Height: 5' 11"
Mark started out at Oldham and has been converted from striker, to a midfield player when he initially came to Chesterfield. He left the Spireites in 2007 to rejoin Oldham. Ronnie Moore then took him to Tranmere in the summer, only for Moore to be sacked, and successor John Barnes allowing him to leave and return to Chesterfield. Allot has previously won Player of the Year awards at both Oldham and Chesterfield.

Dominic Green. Date of Birth: 05/07/1989 Height: 5' 6"
Dominic was signed from Peterborough United on loan in January. Peterborough forked out a six figure sum for Green in 2008/09 after he had played just five times for Dagenham & Redbridge. Sheridan had took note of Green when he played against Oldham when he was manager, and was happy to take Green on loan when he became available.

Frankie Artus. Date of Birth 27/09/1988 Height: 6'0''
Artus has come through the academy at Bristol City, and was signed on a month's loan last week. He came off the bench at Northampton at the weekend to make his debut.
Artus, who is yet to make a senior appearance for Bristol, has previously been on loan at Cheltenham making 9 appearances, scoring three goals. He has also had loan spells at, Exeter City, Brentford, and Kettering Town. He could make a start with Ian Morris returning to Scunthorpe after his loan ended.

Strikers:

Drew Talbot. Date of Birth: 19/07/1986 Height: 5' 10"
Previous Clubs: Scunthorpe (loan), Sheffield Wed, Luton Town. Drewe signed on a two year deal in the summer after a successful loan spell last season. A Barnsley youngster who gave up the game after a series of bad injuries but he was persuaded to return to the game by Sheffield Wednesday. Quick with a terrific work ethic, he had a loan spell at Scunthorpe before a £250,000 move to Luton Town. Can play wide or down the middle.

Jack Lester. Date of Birth: 08/10/1975 Height: 5' 9"
Previous Clubs: Grimsby Town, Doncaster (loan), Nottm Forest, Sheffield Utd. Signed in the summer of 2007 from Nottingham Forest, Lester has been a prolific goal scorer at all his clubs, and continued that form scoring 27 goals in his first season at Saltergate. This season in 20 starts has a return of 9 goals. Lester has not featured for the first team since missing a penalty at Lincoln on Boxing Day. Manageer Sheridan is hoping Lester will have recovered from injury to face the Millers.

MillersMAD One to Watch.

Scott Boden. Date of Birth: 23/11/1989 Height: 5' 11".
Boden signed in 2008 after being released by Sheffield United. Even though Boden has mainly been on the bench this season, he has still managed to score 4 goals, coming off the bench, which he did against Lincoln; will it be enough to get him a start against the Millers?

Davide Somma. Date of Birth: 26/03/1985 Height: 6'1''
Signed on loan from Leeds United in November. David was signed on a permanent contract with Leeds in September 2009 on a one year deal. Somma actually made his debut for Leeds in a reserve game against the Millers. David was born in Johannesburg, and is from Italian heritage, moving to America at the age of 11, where he continued playing school soccer. Davide has made a couple of appearances for the Spireites, but has yet to get off the mark.

Martin Gritton. Date of Birth: 01/06/1978 Height: 6' 1"
Previous Clubs: Mansfield Town, Torquay United, Grimsby Town, Lincoln City, Macclesfield, Plymouth, Yeovil Town. Martin signed in January 2009 after scoring two goals for Macclesfield at Saltergate the previous month. This season Martin has only made one first team start in the League Cup game against Scunthorpe, and is still looking to get on the score sheet.

Barry Conlon. Date of Birth: 01/10/1978 Height: 6' 3"
It came as somewhat of a surprise when Grimsby Town allowed their top goal scorer this season to move to the Spireites. Conlon wasted no time settling in at Saltergate scoring on his debut. Millers fans will remember Conlon having a loan spell with the Millers in the 2005/06 season. Conlon has had 13 clubs starting at Q.P.R. then Mansfield Town, Southend, Grimsby Town, Manchester City, York City, Bradford City, Barnsley, Rotherham (loan), Plymouth (loan), Colchester (loan), Darlington
