"It won't bother me one little bit if I get a little bit of stick. I can take it if it comes my way. I got on really well with the fans but I know some of them were disappointed that I didn't stay at the end of last season but it was just one of those things that I had to do." he told the Star today.

"I still speak to a few of the lads but it would be nice to go back there and get a win. I enjoyed my time at Stockport, particularly in the first season under Jim Gannon when we played some great football, We got up to fourth or fifth in the table and then administration kicked in."

"The following season, Gary Ablett's hands were tied and it was difficult for everyone. I had some brilliant times there but the administration dragged on for a while and it did affect us." he added.

Meanwhile he warned his new team to expect a tougher game than the league table suggest when the two teams meet tomorrow.

"I don't think they should be where they are in the table because they have got some quality players. I expected them to be higher up than they are but they have got a new manager in now so that will give everybody a clean slate." the 25 year old said.

"They will be looking to impress but all we can do is worry about what we can control. If we play like we can do then I don't think there is anything to scare us out there in this league. We have to defend well and if we can get the ball to the players who can cause havoc like Alfie and Marshy then are we are more than a match for anyone."
