Mullen previews Crewe clash as players face race to be fit

The Millers get back to league action after the midweek cup loss to York, and Mullen gave the team news to Millersplayer.

"We obviously know we have a problem with Ryan Cresswell's back and Denis Circuit will be assessing things later today with a view to seeing what the situation is with the game against Crewe. It seems to flare up when he does certain things so we'll have to wait and see", said Mullen.

"Tom Pope has been missing for a few days with a tonsil and throat virus so we'll have to wait and see about him too.

'It was good to have Johnny Mullins back as quickly as we have done and it gives us a bit of a dilemma at right back now he's fit and having Danny Coid here, we also know that Johnny can do a job as centre-back if needed."

MillersMAD understands Andy Warrington may still be unavailable after the birth of his child in midweek so Jamie Annerson could continue in goal.

Asked about trying to bring in a loan player as cover, Mullen added: "It was an almighty day in terms of phone calls but because of injury situations at other clubs or suspended players, it means we haven't really fulfilled what we've tried to do.

"We'll keep trying and we are always on the look out to strengthen and with the situation we have now with the injuries."
