MP for Rother Valley Kevin Barron told todays Star; "Rotherham United have to stay in business and a move seems the only way to do this. I shall buy my season ticket and going to Don Valley, even if it is a poor alternative.

"I have been a Millers fan for 50 years and I had hoped that we could stay in Rotherham. But hopefully this will be a temporary move and we will get a community stadium."

While his colleague Dennis MacShane called for the Community Stadium to be buit; "It is better that the Millers' future is assured after the eternal doubts over Mr Booth's support and commitment.

"The ideal solution would be a purpose-built stadium for the Millers with good car parking and better facilities for fans. In the meantime I am sure they will make a success of the move to Don Valley."
