Moore said he would like the opportunity to speak to Ipswich about the vacant manager's position, despite Rotherham issuing a statement blocking any approach.

Moore has referred to a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave Millmoor for a suitable compensation fee.

Moore was responding to Rotherhams statement issued after the 1-1 draw against Gillingham, which was aimed at warding off any interest in their manager.

The statement read: "Rotherham United FC confirms that Ipswich has made an official approach to speak to our manager Ronnie Moore.

"We do not welcome this approach and have refused them permission to speak to him.

"Ronnie has almost three years left on his contract to run and we expect him to fulfil that and continue the excellent job he is doing at Millmoor.

"Ronnie has a special relationship with our supporters and I am sure that they along with the chairman and the board of directors hope that this is the end of continued speculation."
