Moore to hold talks with Ani after Tamworth workout

Moore saw his side battle back for their first pre-season win in the second half thanks to goals from Ryan Cresswell and Adam Le Fondre.

ronnie mooreAfterwards he said to Millersplayer: "I thought the first half wasn't the best. But I was pleased with the second half performance. We got a lot of crosses over in the second half and played the ball a lot quicker.

"I thought Grant Darley did well, He's got on the ball and passed it and had one or two decent runs. He's playing for his life really because he's only got a contract 'till Christmas but if he performs like that I would imagine there'll be no problems but he's got to be consistent."

Moore continued about his injury hit side: "We've got five lads who are all carrying little knocks and they'll be in tomorrow for treatment. We've got four on the longer term list. Dale Tonge injured himself in training yesterday and Jamie Green`s come off today with a groin injury and a thigh injury but its just one of those things. Nick Fenton should have played today but pulled out of training yesterday and it means he won't be able to train on Monday or Tuesday.

"It may be that we have to get someone in but a lot will depend on Johnny Mullins because he's still a little bit sore and he won't be training on Monday. So, I think we will have to shift sharpish and bring a right back and a centre back in. It will be a lot easier to get a right back and a centre half than it will be to get a striker because it's so hard to get a striker at the moment."

Trialist Jeremiah Ani is a possible option to Moore and appeared in the second period of todays victory, with Moore adding: "He has come in and trained well, played on Wednesday with the kids at Stocksbridge and changed the game with his heart and work rate.

"He had the opportunity to go to Plymouth last year, but the manager at the time Paul Mariner left.

"He has done a pre-season with Notts County and after we sent the circular around saying we needed a striker Craig Short recommended him. We now have to wait and see what happens because we don't know what he wants and what length of contract he is looking for.

"We'll speak with his agent and see what happens."
