Both players were released by Millers boss Mick Harford along with Darren Garner at the end of the season.

Speculation has been rife that both players would be joining Oldham for the past couple of weeks and today they both signed 2 year contracts at Boundary Park.

Scott has been speaking to Oldhams official website and it seems that his departure was part of a cost cutting exercise by Harford.

Rob said " The manager called both me and Paul in to the office and told us he was listening to offers for us both because Rotherham could no longer afford to keep us, infact Mick Hartford said Rotherham, by letting us both go, could infact bring in 5 new faces!"

"I have enjoyed success with Ronnie Moore before and all the talk around the football circles amongst the players is about Oldham Athletic and how they are planning big things next season, there is talk of new stadium, new players and a forward thinking board....I want to be part of it all especially after spending the last 12 months in the doldrums at Millmoor".

Meanwhile Warne told the site "I have been very impressed with the speed of the negotiations and I am looking forward to another promotion push under Ronnie Moore."

MillersMad would like to wish them the best of luck, apart from when they play us when I hope they have an absolute stinker.
