Mistake was just one of those things - Logan

The on loan stopper parried Lewis Young's centre into his own net in the 1-1 draw, but admits that even the top goalkeepers mistakes will always be highlighted more.

“I was disappointed but it was one of those things,” said the 25-year-old, who came in for the injured Andy Warrington.

“What happened was that I gambled because I ancticipated that he would put it across the six yard box. He smashed it, it hit my hand and just started spinning. I hoped it might go out for a corner but it spun in before I could get back to it.

“It was a mistake but ‘keepers making mistakes is part and parcel of the game. They make them at this level and they make them at the highest level. There’s every chance you can watch Match of the Day on a Saturday night and see someone make an error. But the best goalkeepers make the least mistakes.”

Logan, speaking to the Star, made a fine save in the second half to prevent a Cobblers winner and added he was pleased with his response during the rest of the afternoon.

“Goalkeepers will make mistakes all over their careers. It’s how you respond and thankfully the one on Saturday, well, I proved it didn’t affect me afterwards.

“I take more of a positive about how I responded rather than dwelling on the mistake. You have to be mentally strong after something like that and i’d like to think I was.”
