After being released by the Millers at the end of an injury ravaged season, limiting Minto to just 7 appearences. Scott Minto has told the clubs official website themillers.co.uk that he is hanging up his boots.

Minto's last appearence for the club was at the beginning of December against Swindon Town where he came on as sub.

Talking to the official site, Minto said; "Last season turned out to be a poor one for me after I had felt really good in pre-season and the early games, I felt then that I had another couple of years left in me. But my Achilles got hold of me and I had to have a couple of operations."

"My last year or so has seen me blighted with injuries and when the specialist told me that my Achilles wouldn't hold up, I was half glad because I knew I couldn't show myself by playing at 100 per cent. So now's the time to call it a day and I will be up in this area for another year. I am starting a sports journalist course through the PFA."

Minto then paid tribute to the club, "I did want Rotherham United to be my last club so I am happy about that. I have loved my time at Rotherham, I can honestly say that in terms of enjoyment, it has been as good as at any time in my career."

"It's been a great set of lads, a great set up with no egos, everyone getting on well together and that's what football should be about."

MillersMAD would like to thank Scott for his time at Millmoor and wish him all the best for the future. And if he wants to write for the site, then contact us via the link in the menu.....
