Millers warn off Owls

Yorath quit his managerial post at Hillsborough after watching his side suffer a fifth defeat in six league games against Millwall on Wednesday night.

Millers boss Moore is likely to be one of the bookmakers' favourites for the post.

This month he declared an interest in moving to Ipswich, saying he had taken Rotherham as far as he could.

But Rotherham were determined to hang onto their manager then, with Joe Royle eventually taking over at Portman Road, and the club insists Moore is going nowhere now.

A Spokesman for the club said: "As far as Rotherham Football Club are concerned, Ronnie Moore will remain as Rotherham manager.

"Just like the Ipswich situation, the club would refuse permission from Sheffield Wednesday to make a formal approach for Ronnie, even if they wanted to.

"And from the supporters' point of view, Ronnie Moore could not go to a worse club than Wednesday because of the rivalry between the two clubs."
