Speaking to the Advertiser, coach Matt Hamshaw said: “We are still monitoring keepers and Rob Scott and Mike Pollitt have been watching a couple on international duty. As it stands we are waiting for Premier League clubs to come back as regards a keeper. We know who we want but it is a case of just waiting.”

“We have explored permanents and a similar sort of model as with Marek before but there is more chance we would go down the Marek route again."

“That's not to say we haven't had conversations and identified possible permanents but 99 per cent of people would argue that Marek's two years here have worked."

“He had a few critics towards the end but so did everybody. We ended up with a goalkeeper for two years that progressed with us and played a big part in what we did. He had a big affinity with the place and furthered his career as well."

“It was like having a player for free and two years later he leaves on a free. That's not the end of the world as far as I'm concerned.”
