The Millers today played Notts County in a behind closed doors game which ended 0-0, with the Millers fielding a few trialists for Mick Harford to take a look over. According to users on the MillersMad messageboard a number of the trialists are overseas players.

After the game Mick told the official Millers website, "I was pleased with the lads' performance especially at the start of the game when they looked very sharp. At this early stage of the season the results don't matter as it's all about reaching the desired fitness level."

The Millers fitness levels was a major talking point of last season failures and Millers fans will be hoping that the lads will be as fit as a fiddle this coming term. New signing Deon Burton spoke of his fitness to the official site. He said: "I haven't done all that much pre-season training as I have been ticking over at home and visiting the gym but that is nothing compared to being out there with the lads.

The lads will play at non-league Coalville Town, whos average attendance is 110, on Saturday afternoon, KO 3pm. Coalville play in the Midlands Counties Alliance and finished 3rd last season, while also making it to the first round proper of the FA Cup, losing to Wycombe.

It is expected that the Millers will field most if not all the squad during the game.
