Only last week it was rumoured that Mick Harford had been in talks with Hull City for the 25 year old striker who had been told that he could leave the KC by Hull boss Peter Taylor.

However the former Stockport player told the Hull Mail "I've only just got back from holiday so I'm not sure what's happening but there's no way I want to go Rotherham, or any other club. I've not spoken to anyone."

But today he joined Danny Wilson's MK Dons on a two year contract, leaving the Millers boss still on the lookout for a new striker before the main Pre-Season training starts in earnest.

Speaking to the Rotherham Star Mick Harford said, "I want a new frontman and a new goalkeeper, ideally as soon as possible, I've had a look at our quota of midfielders and defenders and I think we're fine there both for ability and cover. But those are the two positions I need to look at."

"The quicker we move the better really because it means they'll have time to settle in and get to grips with how we want to operate. It would also help them to intergrate into the team because team spirit is something that's going to be vital. Without that you'll achieve nothing."Harford added.

Harford also gave himself a semi pat on the back with the players he's already brought into the club, "I think we're getting a good collection of young lads here now who can take the club forward. One of the first things I wanted to do, and this is no disrespect to Ronnie, was to get the average age of the squad down because it was an ageing one. I think we've been able to do that well."
