Sharps is a 25 year old 6'3" defender who has only applyed his trade at Prenton Park, having joined them from school. According to our sister site, Tranmererovers-MAD Sharps has been a key player for them over the last 3-4 years.

The Warrrington born man has passed his medical and will join training tomorrow having penned a 2 year deal. It's gaffer Knill's fourth signing of the summer so far with Delroy Facey coming in yesterday and Ritchie Partridge & Scott Wiseman coming in last week. Sharps told the official site this afternoon: "I have no quarms about coming to Rotherham at all, in fact it's a good prospect with the players the club are bringing in so hopefuly that will get us on the right road."

Ian brings a wealth of experience of League One to the side and added: "I obviously know Delroy Facey and Richie Partridge from our days at Tranmere but i will soon get to know the others. The ten point defecit is a challenge for us all and with that in mind it will be an achievement for us to stay up, we have to prove wrong all the pundits who will be making us favourites to go down."
