Millers hopeful on Boulding signature

Speaking to RotherFM, Millers assistant boss John Breckin admitted the Millers were up against plenty of other clubs, some from higher divisions for the 32 year old's services.

"He has a lot of options, but if he opts to play in this league then I think we have a great chance of getting him, it's just that a club from a higher league might turn his head a bit."

"If he comes to Rotherham United then he will be welcome here by the staff and the fans and he knows Mark will work with him in training and coach him. I'm optimistic and I think it would be the right decision for him but he has to want to come to play for Rotherham United." Breckin added.

However, both Mark and John confirmed they had other options should Boulding ply his services elsewhere.

"If we don't get Michael then we have other irons in the fire. We've been in touch with other clubs over long term loans for young strikers and got positive answers from that." John said.

Meanwhile Mark Robins told the Advertiser; "It's a case of wait and see, If that doesn't work out, we'll see who else is available, I'm looking for another striker and another player to provide some pace out wide."

"The good thing is that we're getting a decent squad together with competition for places in all areas." he added.
