Millers Gunning For Cup Glory

Should the Millers upset the odds and beat their illustrious Yorkshire rivals, they will of course create history by becoming the first team ever to win a cup final and then go on to play another team in the same competition in a later round. The Millers do have a decent record in cup finals recently, playing in two last season with Leeds, ironically, being the opponents and the South Yorkshire side picked up a win and a draw.

Harford
Overawed
Worringly, Mick Harford is showing signs of being overawed by the game. Talking to the club’s official site the Millers chief said: “I believe they are one of the biggest clubs in the world not just this country, they have a great history. They have a big squad with a lot of very good players and we will have to be at our very best if we are to give ourselves a chance of going through to the next round.”

Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell appears happy to tow the party line about Leeds being a huge club. He told the Yorkshire Post: "Every team who plays against Leeds is fired up and that is because we are the biggest club in Yorkshire. Rotherham will want to get one over Leeds because this is their biggest scalp.”

Blackwell will be keen for his players to get revenge on the Millers for heaping embarrassment on the former Premiership big boys when Rotherham’s 1-0 victory at Millmoor and 0-0 draw at Elland Road condemned Leeds to being the only team who failed to score against a woeful Rotherham team last season that shipped 69 goals and amassed a measly 29 points.

Deluded

Leeds captain Thomas Butler reckons the Millers are a smaller version of Sheffield Wednesday. He too was talking to the Yorkshire Sport and said : “Rotherham will be up for it in front of a big crowd – it will be like Sheffield Wednesday but on a smaller scale.”

The Millers are boosted by the news that Robbie Blake won’t be fit to replace the suspended David Healy, whilst the home team are at full strength.
