The juniors currently train at Aston Comp and the first team at Doncaster's Keepmoat facility, and Robbo, talking to today's Advertiser said:  "We're being helped out by the people at the moment but we've not got the training facilities we want or need.

"Having said that, if it wasn't for Doncaster we'd be struggling. In fact, we'd be training on school pitches.

"For the good of the club, we need a new training ground as quickly as possible. A good set-up is an attraction for prospective senior players and junior players. There's a lot of clubs on our doorstep competing for the best kids, not just the Sheffield clubs, but the likes of Huddersfield and Chesterfield too.

"It's so important to own your own training ground and we need to strive for the best we can that's fit for the purpose."

Robins concluded: "We're not far away but there's still a bit to go. There's planning and design issues to sort out but it's exciting because we're working from a blank canvas to create something that will be of lasting benefit to Rotherham United."
