Millers could tie up double striker deal

Last updated : 05 August 2010 By Deano
Boss Ronnie Moore is set to offer Maltese trialist Jerermiah Ani a short term contract as the 22 year-old impressed the manager during his pre-season stint with run outs at Stockbridge Park Steels and then with the first team at Tamworth.

As reported previously, Ani was all set to earn a deal at Notts County but funds would not allow boss Craig Short to offer him a contract.

Meanwhile as discussed on our messageboards, Moore has also focused his attention to the unattached Jon Macken, who was released by Barnsley over the summer.

The 33 year-old figured in only a handful of games at Oakwell in an injury hit campaign.

The Millers are short in the striking department through injury and are looking to add to their opitions whilst Ryan Taylor and Top Pope return to full fitness.
