Millers complete double swoop
Tonge spoke at length to www.themillers.co.uk about the deal: "I am really excited to be here, I am a local boy living in Bolton-on-Dearne and I am happy to be here.
"It's a club that isn't where it should be - I met the gaffer yesterday along with John Breckin and they had some really positive things to say so I am looking forward to getting promoted. I have signed for two years and I am really confident that the club can go straight back up, there's a buzz about the place with all the staff and I'm sure it's a club that is going to on the up this coming season.
"I have been at Barnsley all my career starting as an 11-year-old and going through the academy. I played in the promotion season two years ago and in the Championship last season.
"So even though I am only just turned 22, I have some good experience - last season I played 15 times for Barnsley and four more on loan at Gillingham. Coming to Rotherham for me isn't a step down, it's a step up again. I know Mark Robins likes his team to play good football while the age of the team is quite young couple with some good experience which is good.
"The gaffer's enthusiasm is what attracted me and I am very optimistic that the club can gain promotion - I wouldn't have come here if I wasn't excited about it.
"So I am looking forward to getting into pre-season training, it's a new start for me and let's hope we can go on to bigger and better things."
Danny commented: "I had no doubts about coming here as I knew John Breckin having worked with him at Tranmere last season.
"I also know a few of the players and when I had a look round, everything felt right so I had not doubt in signing.I have been at Tranmere since I was 13 so I felt I was due for a change as last season I wasn't getting a regular place. The new manager came in and brought in a lot of new faces although I had a run towards the end of the season but it wasn't what I wanted.
"I just wanted to come to Rotherham and try to help them to get back into League One. I consider I get about the pitch well although I would like to score a few more goals, hopefully I will remedy that next season.
"I think I am a good person to have around and I am looking forward to it. Knowing John Breckin helped me to decide to come to Rotherham, he was on the phone straight away when he knew I was available.
"Having worked with him last season I know what he is all about so that was an influence while I know about Mark Robins as a player so it will be good to work with him as well.
"He seems to be a very genuine person. It will be a new and young Rotherham United squad and that will mean we are a hungry squad who want to do well in the game wanting to win things and get back into League One."
