Millers Board Issue Burton Backlash

Speaking to the clubs official site, Henson has admitted that Burton's actions and the manner in which he left Millmoor has left the staff and playing squad with little respect for the 29 year-old.

Sick Note!
Burton's transfer request was put in before Christmas and has been a hot topic of debate on our Mad forum, Henson revealed: "We are not happy with the very late explanation and non-appearance of Deon last Saturday. He showed a total lack of respect for the supporters and his fellow professionals. It has all left a sour taste in the his fellow professionals' mouth, that's for sure, everyone here is very, very disapppointed in him.

He was still a Rotherham United player last Saturday and we expected him to be in our team for a very important game and one which, against local rivals, meant something extra to our supporters."

At the moment the latest we have is that the board have allegedly discussed plans at a meeting to deal with Burton, possibly by fining him, with the maximum being two weeks of his wages but nothing has been confirmed by the club. Burton also missed training last Friday after the club expected him to show at Hooton Lodge.

He was then due to arrive at Hillsborough in the afternoon to iron out the deal, but as the club understands it Burton went straight to Wednesday in the morning befoire telephoning Millmoor sick about 1pm before Saturday's game.
