Rotherham progressed to the second round for the sixth consecutive year with a 3-1 victory over Oldham with goals by Ian Sharps, Will Hoskins and Richie Partridge.
The draw will be seen as a disappointment as the introduction of 12 Premiership teams would have presented a great opportunity for a cash boost and the Millers may find it a struggle to progress.
