Millers ambition key to Law decision

Law junior, 21, son of former Millers centre half Nicky signed on the dotted line from neighbours Sheffield United yesterday after days of speculation, and told the clubs official website he believes he will play at a higher level again with the club.

He said: "I have spoken to a few teams in this league and some in higher divisions but no-one had ambition like Rotherham United.

"The Manager is very ambitious and he tells that me that the other players are ambitious too. I want to play at a higher level and I think that I have the best chance of doing that here."

Law added: "I had a really good season at Bradford but unfortunately from a team perspective it petered out towards the end of the season. I said no to Bradford which was a huge decision because I know how popular I was with the fans. The Manager Stuart McCall was absolutely fantastic to me and I will be forever grateful to him and that made the decision even harder but hopefully I made the right choice."

Law figured once in the Premiership, making his full debut in 2007 for the Blades and after his season loan spell at Valley Parade ended boss Mark Robins said he was delighted to capture his man.

He explained: "I am very happy to have Nicky on board. He still had two years left on his contract at Sheffield United but we managed to come to an agreement. I have spoken with Nicky and he was very keen to sign and he is certain to add value to our squad.

"Nicky is a really good footballer but he is still young so he is another player that has improvement in him. There was other interest from elsewhere so I am delighted to get him.

"He is a great lad and he wants to work hard and improve his game. His Dad has links with the club and after meeting with them I am just delighted," Robins concluded.
