Millers 3 - Coalville 0, Pictures & Report

Last updated : 17 July 2005 By Bigrich.....

Quite a few Millers fans made the relatively short trip to Coalville's Owen St ground, which was quite a decent ground considering their league status, with the Millers fans supping the bar out of lager!!

Anyway onto the football side of things, the Millers had three injuries. Hoskins, Duncum and Robertson all missed the game and the Millers started with, Montgomery, Worrell, Barker, Murdock, Minto, Otsemobor, Williamson, McLaren, Campbell-Ryce, Burton, Butler.

The lads looked sharp and fit as a fiddle, with JCR and new signing Jon Otsemobor standing out. JCR scored a couple of goals, which unfortunately I didnt see!

Mick Harford swapped and changed his team around at half time with Paul Hurst, Paulo Vernazza, John Mullin, Phil Gilchrist, Michael Keane, Marc Newsham and Jonathan Hedge making an appreance. Harford also fielded trialist Courtney Pitt frrom Portsmouth.

Coalville could have been on the scoresheet themselves with a couple of breakaways after some sloppy passing from the defence and a couple of good balls from the Ravens midfield.

The score could have been more with Deon Burton missing a sitter and Paulo Vernazza having a shot well saved by Coalville keeper Ash Brown (no that is his real name!), who played well and kept the scoreline respectable for the hosts, although Michael Keane scored in the last minute to make it 3-0.

Mick Harford was happy with the performance and told the Millers official website: "It's nice to win but at this stage of the season, it's all about fitness. One thing's for sure - the lads all look fit. We lost it a bit in the second half when we became a bit sloppy but all in all I have to be pleased with the afternoon's work."
