The board met today in order to wittle down the list of candidates to a workable selection and then work from there. Coleman has also told Radio Sheffield that he has recieved a couple of shock applications in the last coupld of days, including one from a high profile manager who has been out of work since last year.

It's said that the board are looking to appoint Knill's successor before the Millers next home game on March 27th against Blackpool.

Meanwhile caretake boss Mark Robins told Radio Sheffield that he feels no need for him to apply for the job.

"I will sit down with the board and talk to them, but they know where I am everyday and I do speak to them so I will sit down and speak to them at some stage. I don't really need to apply for it unless they ask me to."

"We can do it in a different way and they can speak to me when they feel like it really, they know where I am in the office." Robbo added.
