Lets be patient says Chairman

Speaking to the 'Tiser Denis urges the fans to back the management team after boo's rang out around Millmoor after a dour 90 minutes.

"All I'm doing is asking the fans to be patient, I admit the football wasn't great last Saturday and it's the first time I have heard boos from the crowd at half time and full time. We seem to go a goal up and then the crowd are waiting for things to go wrong. It never used to be like that. We get fantastic vocal support away, so why can't it be like that at Millmoor?" Denis asked.

"People get frustrated and so do I. I am no different from when I used to stand on the Tivoli. But booing feeds through to the players, especially the younger lads, and I would ask people to remember how far we have come in the last few months. We've had to create a completely new team on a tight budget and, with all the will in the world, it is not going to come right straight away."

"I want promotion as much as anyone else. I'm not sure that will be achieved this season but, having worked with Mark Robins and John Breckin, I am confident that this time next year we will be in a better position— how long is it since we've been able to say that?" he added.

"Let's stop being so negative. We have stopped the rot and the club can only go in one direction now and that's up. If the supporters had been told in August that we'd be four points from the top of the league after seven games, that would have been acceptable."
