Lessons need to be learnt - Moore

The Millers have lost their last three league games and slipped out of the automatic promotion places on Tuesday night.

And Moore warned tomorrow's game against Stockport, who have the worst defence in the division, will not be a given.

"If we think it is going to be easy then we will get beat," he said to the Tiser. "Darlington proved that (when they did the double over us) last year. "Everyone had us down to beat Southend and it didn't happen.

"We're the only ones who can make it happen, by doing the right things and getting stuck into them. If we play to the best of our ability then we're a better team—the league table tells you that. But if we're not mentally tough and prepared for a battle then we'll be in trouble.

"I hope we've learned from the last three games, especially from Tuesday night, that we need to keep the ball and be aggressive at times and get into people's faces. If we do that then nobody can live with us at this level."

The Millers face another tough game at Port Vale on Tuesday who are also chasing promotion, with Moore adding:  "Vale is a big game for different reasons.

"They're trying to get into the top three and they've a new manager in. Sometimes it can take a new boss time to get things how he wants so it might be the right time for us to be going there.

"It won't be easy though and we will have to defend a lot better than we did on Tuesday night at Stevenage."
