League Two is a hard slog - Mullins

Mullins, made captain in the January transfer window after Ian Sharps left for Burton, explains the difficulties of gaining League One status.

“I think this is a difficult league and difficult league to get out of. When I first signed, I did so to get promotion and after two-and-a-bit years I now realise how difficult it is.

“But when I look at those players behind me in the dressing room, they're probably the best I've played with. Inconsistency is the problem but if you can go on a run now you put yourself right in with a chance.

“I can't put my finger on the inconsistency,” he added. “It is what it is, this football club. We've got a lot of players and things happen. But we all know the ultimate goal and we're all behind achieving that."

After being loaned out to Oxford earlier in the season, Mullins has been in inspired form since his return to NYS and added: “I want to kick on with these boys. I'm back here now and I'm captain and I want to be captain of a promotion-winning side.”
