League One Round-Up

With the Millers still waiting on contract decisions and Martin Butler departing for Walsall, the main talking point across League One is who's going to get the thankless task of trying to get Forest promoted!

Newly promoted Northampton have given permission for the City Ground club to approach Colin Calderwood. Having already spoken with Ipswich, Chairman David Cardoza told BBC Sport online: "Over the weekend we were approached by Forest, and Colin is flying back from holiday to see what they have to say. As we said to Ipswich, I expect the matter to be resolved very quickly. We will not enter into any speculation. We will deal simply with factual information, and we will update our supporters as soon as there is anything else to say."

Our congratulations go to Barnsley on getting promotion to the Championship on Saturday. Several Millers were at the game, including our own Bigrich, i'm sure he enjoyed a good slurp and a day out in Cardiff! Meanwhile, Gillingham seem to be pushing the stops out under Ronnie Jepson and Paul Scally after making several new signings. However out of contract goalkeeper Jason Brown has been linked with a move away from Priestfield.

With clubs starting their summer clear out, Michael Cummins this week signed for Darllington after leaving Port Vale, who beat the Millers to the signing of Crewe defender Richard Walker. Elsewhere Brentford captain Michael Dobson is one of eight players released by Martin Allen after their play off disappointment.

In League Two Peterborough are set to name their new gaffer at a noon press conference today.
