The 22 year-old striker was the only player in Mark Robins' squad not to agree to a wage deferral after the club entered administration, and boss Robins believes the front man has been badly advised.

Speaking to today's Rotherham Star, the manager explained: "I was very surprised with his decision, particularly after the conversation I'd had with him the day before."

Robins says he had little choice to leave O'Grady out of Saturday's 5-1 drubbing at Morecambe and that his hands were effectively tied.

"He gave me no option but to do what I did", added Robbo - "I think he has been badly advised.

"We'll have to wait and see what he does now but if he doesn't come, well, it will be up to him. If he is intent on going elsewhere then, in 14 days, he becomes a free agent, although he can't play anywhere else this season. But the decision he took is his entitlement. Everyone else signed the agreement to a deferral but he declined."

The club are set to pay the players 50% of their match fees today with the PFA payng a further sum on top of that to make up some of the deferred money.

Meanwhile MillersMAD would like to congratulate youth team goalkeeper Mark Oxley, who has been called into the England U18 set up for a friendly with Austria at Hartlepool's Victoria Ground on April 16th.
