Knill Reflects On Gretna Result

Knill saw the return of Lee Williamson for 20 minutes at the weekend, whilst Eugen Bopp and Alexis Nicolas impressed as they look to earn a contract. Knill knows he has a headache as he tries to trim down his playing staff, with Lewis McMahon and Rhys Powell also out to impress.

Firstly Knill says to the official site he was pleased with his sides display in the 3-1 win: “The result was pleasing as there were two goals from Will Hoskins and one from Ryan Taylor. It was a good game for us against a different formation as we may come up against that again.

“I used a different starting line up as we are trying to get players match fit but you can't read too much into the starting teams at the moment although I have in my mind who will start against Brighton.” Knill hopes to get 90 minutes out of a few more of his squad at Blundell Park tonight and against Sheffield United at Millmoor this coming Friday.

Of his trialists, he explained: “By the end of this week we probably wont have as many trialists as we will have decided who we want to keep, I am hoping to strengthen but we have a reduced budget that will only stretch so far. “I would like another one in on a permanent basis and perhaps another one or two on loan as well.”
