Buxton Town are currently flying high in the Unibond First Division, owing in no small part to the form of their goalkeeper Scott Hartley and the form of the Buck's young keeper has attracted the attention of Alan Knill.

Speaking to the Buxton Advertiser, Buxton's manager and former Rotherham United central defender Nicky Law confirmed that Knill had been in touch asking to take Hartley on trial. "[Knill]'s asked to have a look at him in training", said Law, "[but] I've told Scott that he needs to be in the right frame of mind and on top of his game [before he goes]".

Hartley joined Buxton from Maltby Main in 2005, so is no stranger to the area. He will also be well known to the Millers' first choice goalkeeper, Neil Cutler, who coaches the 'keepers at Buxton as part of his FA coaching course.

The Millers have dealt with Buxton before, having picked Ally Pickering up from there when Billy McEwan was manager.
