Knill gets support from U's boss

Both managers are friends and that goes back to thier days together at Bury, however with a massive game for both teams tomorrow, Parkinson told todays Rotherham Star, "Myself and Alan go back a way, we played at Bury together and I'm pleased at the way results for Rotherham have turned round under him, He was a leader on the pitch and he has taken that into his managerial career. "

"But, I must say, friendship will go out of the window for 90 minutes tomorrow. I'd like to see him keep Rotherham up, but first and foremost I've got to make sure that we take three points off them at Layer Road."

"When that game is over and after we have played our final game of the season, though, one of the first results I will look for is Rotherham's - and hopefully they will have got the points they need to stay in League One."

And Parkinson thinks that his mate has done well since taking charge of the Millers, He said: "The proof of how good a manager you are is down to the results. Alan has got the results, and in difficult circumstances, and I think he must have a good chance of getting the job full-time."

No talks on Knills future have yet taken place, but the board have publicly said they are very happy with Alan and it seems that they are planning for next season with him in charge.
