As announced last night by MillersMad, The club today told the press that they will be advertising the managers post on Monday.

Alan Knill has given his reaction to the news to Radio Sheffield, "I always knew that it was coming anyway, I knew a long time ago. I'll just get on with the job and same for Mark we just get on with it. We were told and we'll just prepare ourselves. Obviously winning on Tuesday helps and if we can win on Saturday it makes it more positive for us."

Alan Knill and Mark Robins are expected to apply for the postion when it is advertised.

Chairman Peter Ruchniewicz told Radio Sheffield "Alan and Mark were aware when they took their current temporary posts to the end of the season that the club would go through a process of interviews for the permanent positions. With his partnership with Mark, Alan has shown already what he can bring to the club and the playing squad."

During the interview with MillersMad, Ruchniewicz told us that the board had no list of candidates they would like to talk to, "We're not going to chase people, they have to come to this club and want to manage Rotherham United."

Millers financial director John Harrison also phoned in tonights Football Heaven, and was asked various questions including why the job is advertised now! "We are expecting that the planning consent for the new stand will come through in mid april, and at that point we'll be looking at fundraising from the shareholders and others. We want to have any uncertaintys that may be relating to the new manager out of the way before then."

John Harrison
Harrison was asked how the board felt about Knill, and he responded by saying the fitness of the players was better, and that the club was now starting to bring in good young players.

Harrison told that interviewing will be done by the end of the month and hopefully an announcement on April 6th after a planned board meeting, asked if Knill could be replaced before the end of the season, "In effect yes he could, but I'm on the interviewing panel so I'm not in a postition to pre-judge what is going to happen."
