Keane ban stands as appeal falls flat.

Keane was sent off for the third time this season during last Saturday's 2-0 win over Tranmere.

Many fans felt the red card a little harsh as Keane was manhandled by 2 Tranmere players in the lead up to the scuffle which saw Keane and Tranmere's Jackson both facing the early bath.

Because this is Keane's 3rd red card, the usual ban of 3 games is extended by 1 game per red card, meaning the midfielder has missed a quarted of the season because of suspension.

Speaking to todays Rotherham Star, Millers boss Alan Knill was dissapointed.

"It's a blow to us because he is an important member of the side and he would have been vital during the run-in. He is learning lessons the hard way and he certainly will have sat out too many games by the time this season ends." he said.
