I've no connection with the McMullen consortium - Coleman

The Rotherham Advertiser spoke to Dennis Coleman directly and he commented."I have no connection with Anthony McMullen".

"The first time I met him was ironically on St Patrick's Day, when he came to see me after ringing me a few days before.

"The Irish people are carrying out due diligence at the moment but I am still open to speaking to anyone interested in helping the club.

"What I would say is that there is no point in people coming in just to help the club survive. It needs people with proper invest ment or we are going to be in the same situation in two years' time.

"I know from personal experience, without pumping significant sums in, the club cannot be run.

"Regardless of where they come from, I would rather someone came in with the financial clout to give the club a better future.

"The Irish people are football mad and they're keen to get involved with a football club."They want to build a new ground with bolt-on facilities like hotels and the like around it. That's the way they want to go and, if you ask me, that is the correct way to do it."

In the same interview he went on to say "I could stay involved, but to be honest I don't know that's what I want to do - I want to see Rotherham United's future secured before I think about things like that. I'd go away for a break and consider it."
