It's sad to see him go - Warrington

Andy Warrington speaks to todays Star and gave his thoughts on the manager leaving;

"Mark's done a great job for us, It's sad to see him go, but I wish the best of luck in the future. For his first job, he really had done a fantastic job. I'd have liked him to stay, but these sort of chances don't come round very often, so I wasn't surprised he's taken the opportunity.

"His knowledge of the game is first class. I could see from the first time I met him he was ambitious and wanted to be very successful.

"I hope he is successful at Barnsley, I don't think anyone could have any qualms to what's he done for this club; he's been a great manager. He's gone up to a Championship club, it's another great challenge for him," Andy added.

"With what he's achieved with Rotherham, it's no wonder his profile has been raised. It's credit to him and the rest of the coaching staff at the club, especially with the restraints he had to work under.

"But we've got to move on now and continue our great form this season. Saturday was a fantastic result for us against Chesterfield, we've got to keep that form going.

"We had a chat before the Chesterfield game and everyone agreed we've got to do keep performing for ourselves and the fans.

"Mark would get his point of view across, he's a no-nonsense manager and he'd have a few choice words when they were needed, but I respect him for that and so do a lot of the other players.

"We've had great backing from the chairman, We've got a new training ground and new stadium to look forward too - and we're top of the league, so there's a lot to be thankful about."
