It's harder work here - Elliott

The loanee has been put through his paces with the rest of the squad by Paul Warne, and told the Tiser the fitness drills are on another level to what he's ever been used to.

"We play football as well but the running here is ridiculous compared to there. Don't get me wrong, we did hard running at Leeds but here it is just a different level. "Simon Grayson (Leeds' manager) wants to play football a bit more but Ronnie wants to get the lads really fit here so they can challenge for the league again."

The 19 year-old then explained a bit about his footballing background, adding: "I went to Leeds when I was 12. I played under Dennis Wise and Gary McAllister but then Simon Grayson came in and told me to go out and get some games.

"I've come out here to impress and see what I can do. Rotherham are a good team and they like to get the ball into the box so hopefully I can blend in and score some goals.

"I know all about what he can do," said Elliott speaking about Adam Le Fondre. "Me and Alfie up front ain't a bad partnership. He scores so hopefully I can get goals next to him and we'll be banging them in for fun until January time.

"This isn't a bad league but it is physical. I had a taster when I was on loan at Bury last season but I only played a few times and then I was out injured for four months. This time Northampton wanted me but Rotherham is close to home and they got to the play-off final last year so they were more attractive to me."
