Lynch signed a two-year contract yesterday and the 26 year-old, released by Yeovil Town, was relieved to get things sorted out.

He explained to the BBC: "It's time for a change now and I'm looking forward to the next two seasons. It's a relief to get things agreed and I'm looking forward to the new season."

Lynch started his career at a trainee at Manchester United before spells at Sunderland, St Johnstone and Huill City in which time he's had experience of promotion, and assistant manager John Breckin was delighted to have him on board.

Breck said: "I do like players who have smelt success and they have been there and worn the T-shirt. I think it is essential you have players who have sampled that. I think signing Mark will be good for our squad."

Meanwhile rumour continues as to whether the club will continue to play at Millmoor or whether talks have broken down with landlords the Booth family.

Does Don Valley beckon? Over to the club to clarify things for the supporters please....
