It Stinks... - Warne

"I’m disappointed. I come out here to speak to you lot (the media) and you tell me other results, I don’t know if it makes me feel worse or better." Warne told the clubs official website.

"It’s a really frustrating thing. It feels like we’re against the world. I have seen it again. I’ve seen my goalkeeper’s face. I don’t know anyone who didn’t think it wasn’t a foul."

"How many times have you seen a goalkeeper go off, in the first minute? Now he’s got to go through concussion protocol I presume. I’m going to have to speak to physios and he might be out for 10 days. Viktor’s anything but a shrinking violet - for him to go off and that’s how we’ve lost the game; it stinks, massively.”

"My lads put an unbelievable shift in against a team no one wants to play against because they outrun and outfight at the top,” continued Warne. "Coming here, I never overdramatise our performance but we were the better side in virtually every department.

"We came really brave. I said to the Chairman we are going for it. I knew it wouldn’t be a pretty game. We left it one-v-one on the pitch. My only disappointment was the first ball down our line we didn’t get the header.

"Apart from that, it had a massive effect on the game and we were always chasing. I’m really pleased with them but heartbroken. We outran them and created more chances but come away with nothing. Sometimes you get what you deserve in life and today is one of those days where we’ve got nothing.

“They’re a great dressing room and a great bunch. Fundamentally, we have to be more clinical.

"That performance today may have typified our season so far; there’s a lot of effort but we can’t hit the goals.”

“We’re going to have to play the way we did today but take our chances if we are to survive, I had a relegation before and I feel like this team is so close. It’s so frustrating because we come to a team who are flying and we looked so confident."
