It has to be the right deal.... - Coleman

With the Millers already recieving three bids for the midfielder, Denis Coleman admits that the Millers may not get what they're hoping for on any Lee Williamson deal.

"What we're looking for and what we'll get's two different things, the reality of the Lee Williamson situation is that Lee is out of contract, we've offered Lee a contract to stay and we'd love him to stay."

"Thats probably not going to happen so we've got to get the best deal for Rotherham United. If theres 3 or 4 clubs in for him then they'll have to fight it out with the best deal dont they?" he added.

When asked if Watford were one of the clubs that had tabled a bid, "Possibly" was Denis's answer, "Theres 4 or 5 clubs intrested at the minute, things will start hotting up this week both for Lee and obviously theres a lot of intrest in Will Hoskins as well."

Denis then went on to reveal that the club had turned down another bid of over £500k for Will Hoskins, "We've had 2 bids of over half a million pounds and anothers just come in today which I've got to look at."

"We're not under so much pressure with Will Hoskins because we dont have to sell Will, even though he's out of contract in the summer unless we agree a good bid with somebody it goes to tribunal and all these offers will just strengthen our position if it gets to that stage."

"But then again, I've got to speak with Will after training tomorrow and see what his thoughts are on things. At the end of the day we dont want to keep any player at Rotherham if its not where they want to be."

Denis then went on to explain how the transfer talks had progressed with Will, "We told him from day one that we would sit down with him at Christmas which we did, we are a club and a board that stick to our word, thats what we did and what the manager agreed with him. Will then intimated what he wanted to the manager, we told the manager to give it him and tell he we'll get things sorted for Friday, he can run out against Yeovil with a bit of cheer before Christmas for the supporters and the Will as he's got a new contract and the supporters know he's staying, thats what we thought was happening."

"Then, he starts talking to his agent, I don't know what goes off between them but I think its obvious that he says he can get him out and get him a better deal somewhere so thats the situation we're in at the minute."

However Denis was hopeful of helping Alan Knill to bring in new players. "Alan's got a meeting with the scouts tomorrow then a meeting with me to which I've told him to bring his list of players he'd like to me, I'll take that to the board and see what we can let him have and what he can bring in."
