Worldnet, held at Boddington Park in Leeds, is the pinnacle of the IFA season where 64 supporters’ teams from all over the UK battle it out with each other over two days of intense tournament football. It all begins in earnest on Saturday morning with sixteen groups of four scrapping for a place in round two on Sunday. The Millers are drawn in Group 10 with local rivals Scunthorpe who they face in the opening game of the group, Crewe and Coventry and will be expected to top the group, which will leave them seeded for the second round draw.

After a long season they managed a top six finish in the league and reached the 1/4 finals of the IFA Cup so they will be disappointed with anything less than a quarter-final spot. They will also fancy their chances of mixing it with the big boys that include Millwall, Fulham and last years’ winners Ayr but team organiser Steve Burns know they will need a bit of luck.

“I keep having this re-occurring thought, just imagine we get to the 1/4's and get a good draw. In to the semis and get through with a bit of luck. Into the final! One game and we have won and we get a goal and keep it tight. We have won Worldnet. Imagine the celebrations back in Rotterdam!!! No one would make work the next day!” Said the 9ft striker.

The Millers have been in intense fitness training since May in preparation for the marathon weekend and a series of friendlies has seen an increase in the quality of performance but they all know that the real hard work starts against Scunthorpe.

All support for the boys will be gratefully received so get yourself down to Leeds on Saturday and help cheer them on to the second day.
