Impressive Milsom aiming for longer deal

Milsom was signed on a six month deal from Aberdeen, and is aiming to prove his worth to the Millers gaffer Steve Evans and the supporters after pevious battles against injury.

“It has been so frustrating with injuries in my career,” he told the Advertiser. “I've managed to put good performances in and then got struck down by injury for no fault of my own. I've been unlucky because the things that have happened I couldn't do anything about. I try to keep myself in good condition but I've had boys come in and clatter me from the side and stuff like that.

“I'm really looking to progress and get a really good season under my belt and there's the incentive to stay on beyond January. I want to play football and you've got to have a football club in order to play football and earn a living. I'm looking to do the best in each game I have and hopefully I can get a new contract if I'm performing week-in and week-out.

“I loved playing at a full New York Stadium,” he added. “As a footballer, you like to play in big stadiums in front of big crowds. It gets that extra little bit out of you and it did on Saturday in the second half. I like to do my bit for the team. The best bit of my game is just getting around the pitch and trying to break play up, keep the ball and give it to the ones that can do the extra bit of magic up the pitch. I'm enjoying the role and I'll play wherever the gaffer wants.”
